The homeowners’ request was simple: in addition to upgrading the deck space properly, they wanted an outdoor kitchen beneath a gazebo. Owen Landscape Architects elevated the idea, designing a four-season modern cabana that not only houses the kitchen but also features a fireplace and large folding glass doors. The result is an intimate, light-filled retreat that brings year-round comfort and style to the deck – blending seamlessly with the broader outdoor living experience.
“Before” – The existing deck.
The Muskoka chairs arranged around a fire bowl was replaced with a 4-season cabana.
THE DESIGN VISION
Raised planters were incorporated into the design to define and separate the various outdoor living areas, creating distinct “rooms” within the landscape.
Folding doors allow the cabana to open up to the outside!
